Polina Provad

Registered Physiotherapist

Polina received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Specialized Science degree with Honours from York University, and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. During her Master’s studies, she was involved in an extensive research project, which evaluated whether the Osteo-Circuit ™ exercise and education program successfully reduced falls and fractures in older women with low bone mineral density.  Due to the success of the study, Polina continues to work on implementing such programs into her practice to address safe and effective exercise for individuals with osteoporosis and scoliosis.

An avid believer in lifelong learning, Polina continues to pursue post-graduate courses. She has her certification in athletic taping, soft tissue release therapy and acupuncture with the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program.  She has taken courses in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), Neuro-Kinetic Therapy, Levels 1 & 2 with the Orthopaedic Division of Manipulative Therapy, and the Mulligan Concept. Polina is one of our clinic Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation physiotherapists.

One of Polina’s passions is the effect of yoga on spinal conditions such as scoliosis and osteoporosis. Using her own experiential knowledge in combination with course work, she developed Osteo-Yoga,™ a popular bone safe exercise class she provides at our clinic.

Polina’s strong interest in orthopaedics and fitness for health guides her treatment philosophy, which emphasizes the use of compassion and understanding, manual therapy and exercise prescription when approaching patient care. Ultimately, her goal is to nurture, support and motivate clients with the tools to successfully manage their own health and achieve balanced well-being!

Polina can be found reading, outside camping or hiking, or planning her next travel venture! After journeying  through South East Asia, Scandinavia and Iceland – her next adventure is always in the works.
